Mafana, which means 'Hot' in Malagasy (the language of Madagascar), sets out to improve the lives of people living in poverty in Madagascar by providing regular work at fair reward. Mafana's ethos is to deliver a range of high quality, hand crafted products which are fairly traded and environmentally sustainable. This enables the Producers and their dependents to be self reliant and have self esteem.

In addition to creating regular, fair-paid work, Mafana also gives a proportion of its income to charities based in Madagascar directly involved in building schools and medical centres or bringing fresh water to rural communities.

Mafana enables small cooperatives to start production or become more efficient, so if a raffia weaving loom is needed, they will buy it. If raw materials are needed, they will fund them. This also allows the craftsmen of Madagascar to help themselves develop trade in a fair and equitable manner.

Morphe by Amit Aggarwal

After graduating from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi in 2002, Amit Aggarwal started his career showcasing his collections through student competitions all over the world and working with some of the best-known labels in the country, including Tarun Tahiliani. Later he headed the design team of Creative Impex, part of the Creative Group, one of India's most-reputed garment manufacturing companies, producing high-fashion clothes for brands like Alberta Ferretti, Moschino, Jean Paul Gaultier and Kenzo, to name a few.

In 2008 he launched MORPHE, as his eponymous label, in collaboration with the Creative Group. Utilising the best crafts techniques available locally, Amit creates pieces that tend to have a timeless appeal. He has been nominated as one of the finalists for the British Council's Young Creative Entrepreneur Award and was invited by the Dutch DFA to Amsterdam as part of a design delegation. Recently Amit won the Marie Claire Award for the Best Western-Wear Designer (brands established within 10 years).

Nicola de Main

niin handcrafts nature's treasures to create original jewellery and accessories, with ethical practices at it's core. niin launched in 2005 by Jeanine Hsu with the aim of creating artisan jewellery that combines natural materials and a light environmental footprint. niin is currently represented in over twelve countries and has its showroom in Central District, Hong Kong. The showroom itself is true to the brand's identity as a concept space, designed using repurposed and recycled resources without compromising style or function. niin has set up a production chain where off cuts from one of Asia's high end furniture factories are taken to workshops and up-cycled where possible into niin designs. These are then sold in recycled packaging. niin has donated sale proceeds to, and helped to raise awareness for, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Clean Air Network, and Ecovision.

Orly Genger by Jaclyn Mayer, New York, is a collaboration between artist Orly Genger and jewellery designer Jaclyn Mayer. The jewelry, based on the knotting technique used in Genger’s sculpture, is all made by hand without hooks or needles. Olivia Rubin launched her first womenswear line after graduating from the world-renowned Central Saint Martins College in London. Her final collection was chosen for the prestigious press show and won immediate attention from the press who cited her printed designs as one of the ‘standout collections.

Sam Ubhi

After graduating in Constructuve Textiles from Middlesex University, Sam Ubhi exhibited her tapestries and wall hangings in galleries in London and New York. In a twist of fate, a chance meeting with an accessories buyer from New York department store Barneys - who admired Ubhi's earrings - led to her first big break. For the past 18 years she has created jewellery and accessories in her London studio. Tony Cohen

Dutch designer Tony Cohen comes from family steeped in fashion heritage. In 2005, the TONYCOHEN label was established. The diffusion line launched 2LOVETONYCOHEN was then launched in 2010.

International recognition has come in the form of an invitation to show during the prestigious New York Fashion week. Tony has been the first and only independent Dutch designer to be invited to show in the tents of Bryant Park, New York. By 2010 he had already shown his 5th New York Fashion Week runway.

Over the years, TONYCOHEN managed to rise from a small scale organization to an international player within the fashion industry.

Wondaland

Wondaland is a new label by Central St Martin’s alumni Alice Keswick. The former head designer of Evisu Jeans fuses retro glamour with cool contemporary design to create a feminine, playful and effortlessly chic collection. Now in its fourth season, the label counts Sienna Miller, Poppy Delevigne and Margo Stilley among its fans.

“Wondaland is a medley of my experiences of the fashion industry in Paris to the Orient and my love of past style whether it’s Bianca Jagger at Studio 54 or Irving Penn’s portraits of British debutantes in the 50’s” says Alice, “My focus is to create unique prints and beautifully cut dresses, separates and tailoring that are easy to carry from day-to-night.”

Each season Alice works with a respected artist to create a distinctive print which features throughout the collection ensuring each garment is a work of art in itself. This season’s bold panther print is by Catherine Cazalet.
